Dual Protocol Release Date, Price & Demo Status
DUAL PROTOCOL: The Case of Eva & Miles releases on October 2, 2026 on Steam for Windows PC. It is a full release, not Early Access. As of October 1 the store page still showed no price, and the demo that ran earlier this year has been taken down.

The road to launch

- DUAL PROTOCOL: The Case of Eva & Miles is scheduled to release on Steam (Windows).
- Aegean Crafters and Rock Paper Publisher announce 50,000 Steam wishlists.
- The official Dual Protocol Discord opens, pitched as the place to find a co-op partner.
- The game passes 25,000 Steam wishlists.
- The game passes 10,000 Steam wishlists; the post thanks players for trying the demo.
- Aegean Crafters uploads a 16-minute gameplay walkthrough video to YouTube.
- The first official trailer is published on the Aegean Crafters YouTube channel.
The wishlist count went from 10,000 to 50,000 in under two weeks in late September. That is a lot of attention for a small two-player game from a small studio. Expect busy Steam forums and a lot of pairs hitting the same puzzles on launch weekend.
Price and Friend Pass
No price had been published on the Steam page when we checked on October 1, 2026. In the forum thread asking about a Friend Pass, the player guessed a price of about $10. That was a guess, not an announcement. Similar two-player puzzle games on Steam cost between $3.99 and $19.99. Our games like Dual Protocol page lists them with their prices.
Nothing has been said about a Friend Pass. That is the free second copy some co-op games give the partner. Without one, both players need to buy the game. We will update this page once the store goes live.
What happened to the demo
A demo was playable earlier in 2026. The developers' September 16 announcement thanks players for "playing our demo". Many pairs got stuck in its opening office and said so in a Steam thread that started on June 17. The developers later replied that they had reviewed the cues and made several changes in the Analyst's room. The demo is no longer offered on Steam. Launch questions
What time does Dual Protocol unlock on Steam?
The developers have not posted an exact hour. On October 1, 2026 the Steam page said the game would unlock in about one day. Steam releases normally unlock at a set hour, so check the store page on the morning of October 2.
Is Dual Protocol early access?
No. The Steam page lists a normal release on October 2, 2026, with no Early Access label.
Will there be a Friend Pass?
Nothing has been announced. A player asked on the Steam forums on September 30, 2026 and had no answer when we checked. Until that changes, both players need their own copy.
Can I still play the demo?
No. The demo was removed from Steam before launch. After players reported getting stuck, the developers said they reworked the clues in the Analyst's room for the full game.
